As a Christian Educator, I don't think the "separation of church and state" has gone too far? I can remember as a gradeschooler being herded into the auditorium to hear a "fire and brimstone sermon" everytime we had an evangelist in town. Religious belief's differ from family to family. In both the Little Ax and Norman situations, those children were being directed by modern-day, religious Pharisees. I haven't found any New Testament Scripture, yet, to support heavy-handed evangelization of children outside of the family.
